This gorgeous antique ring was handmade in 14k yellow gold around 1880. The belcher style setting features five old mine cut diamonds totaling .60 carats all together. They are a high color and clarity grade of G and VS, giving them a very clean, almost watery, sparkle. The diamonds truly have a lot of fire and life that certainly make the ring suitable for an engagement. The carvings are beautifully done and still fairly sharp, as is the nature of hand made and carved gold. The top is all original. However, at some point, the shank (starting below the carvings) was replaced, probably for thickness. It is currently a size 6 1/2, but may be resized as needed.
