Antique Untreated Color-Change Sapphire in 1940s Ring

Antique Untreated Color-Change Sapphire in 1940s Ring

Lavender hues to the sweetest blue– this stunning 19th century sapphire changes color in natural light! The 2.96 carat gem is untreated, a rarity among sapphires since the early 20th century, which means that this color is completely natural! Indoors, it appears as a light purple stone and in natural light it turns blue, as pictured! It is beautifully set in a classic 1940s handmade platinum mounting with two single cut diamonds on either side weighing about .16 carat in total. The mounting's simplicity and the colorlessness of the diamonds truly shows off the magnificent color and unusual cut of this unique sapphire. The ring is currently a size 6 and may be resized up or down upon request.
