Fulfilling our most common request, this antique solitaire drips in elegant details and a dynamic diamond that exceeds all expectations of this classic engagement style. This stunning beauty was handmade around 1910 in 14k yellow gold with a platinum basket that is beautifully patterned even on its most miniscule surfaces. The newly hand-restored platinum prongs hold a 1.16 carat, GIA-certified, Old European Cut diamond. It has a hint of warm pigment as it is graded a J, however, it loses this pigment in natural light and appears near-colorless– a phenomenon unique to antique diamonds that were mined closer to the surface of the earth and therefore exposed to more radiation than the deeply mined diamonds of today. It has a fine SI1 clarity grade, with no visible inclusions to the naked eye. The ring is currently a size 6 1/2 and may be resized easily up or down upon request.
