Two-tone Diamond Navette c1920

Two-tone Diamond Navette c1920

Perfectly encapsulating the evolution between the navette ring of the Belle Epoque and the dinner ring of the Deco Period, this ring beautifully bridges eras! The most quintessential navette rings are long and slender, their top widest where it meets the shank and then evenly tapered to a point to the north and south. Dinner rings of the 1920s are also elongated, running north-south, however unlike their navette predecessors, they do not come to a point, and often have a more consistent width throughout, appearing more as an oval or rectangular shape than a marquis shape like the navette. This ring, likely made right around 1920, is right in between these two related styles. Though it does taper to points at the end like a classic navette, it is more rounded, and less extreme in its length, creating a beautiful balance. Handmade in two tones of 14k gold, the diamonds are set in white to accentuate their brilliance while the band adds warmth in yellow gold. The center stone is a half carat transitional cut boasting a near colorless H-I grade and a VS1 clarity grade. The surrounding diamonds are all old European cut and add about .70 carat in total diamond weight to the ring. They range between near colorless G grade to K grade and VS1 to I1 clarity grade. The ring is currently a size 6 and may be easily resized up or down upon request!
