Victorian Slide Charm Bracelet c1930

Victorian Slide Charm Bracelet c1930

Victorian slides reimagined by the 1930s! In the late Victorian and Edwardian eras, long pocket watch chains with beautifully decorative slides like these were a staple. The chain was worn around the neck with the end clipped to a pocket watch that got tucked into a pocket. The slide functioned to keep the two sides of the chain together, adding a personal touch to the piece, and falling where a pendant might land. By the 1930s, wristwatches drove watch chains out of fashion. Though slide chains were out, Victorian and Edwardian styles were very much back in– it was only natural that the slides were repurposed into gorgeous charm bracelets packed with unique personality and details. Each slide charm bracelet is a one-of-a-kind creation. This exceptional example features one of the most remarkable opal clasps we've seen! Emeralds, garnets, diamonds, opals, natural seed pearls and sapphires all add their own special color and sparkle to the mix. Each slide's different shape, carvings, stone settings, and intricate details adds dynamic character to the bracelet. All of the charms and findings are 14k except for one 10k slide. A safety chain ensures that even unclasped, the bracelet will not fall off. The bracelet measures nearly 1/2 inch at its widest point and 6 inches long, fit for a small to slightly smaller than average sized wrist.
