Swallows are among the sweetest of symbols from the Victorian era. They were presented to a loved one ahead of an absence and taken to mean faith, fidelity, and a safe return home! In this lovely 19th century piece, black enamel is the backdrop for a beautifully etched rose gold swallow, centered in a floral and leaf garland design. The gold is 10k and has a rosy hue. The clasp and hinge are also beautifully etched and detailed, an unusual touch that makes it an ever more special piece. The bangle is about 3/8 inch wide and measures about 6 1/2 inches, fitting a small to average sized wrist.
