Sapphire and Diamond Navette c1880

Sapphire and Diamond Navette c1880

A rich blue sapphire stuns in this striking, sparkling navette! A navette is a ring known for its long, flat marquis shape from the late 19th century, usually paved with diamonds and other fine gemstones. The term translates to "little turnip" in French! This 1870s-1880s rendition is handmade in 14k yellow gold all the way through, providing a brilliant contrast to the stunning, true blue sapphire and near colorless diamonds! While the sapphire is synthetic, it maintains the hardiness of a natural sapphire and its antique cut and gorgeous color make it a perfect centerpiece. It sits at the center of sparkling, fully cut old mine diamonds that cover the navette to the edges. The diamonds total a carat weight of about 1.50 and boast near colorless G-H color grades and clean VS-SI clarity grades. The gold shank is accented with carved adornments and cut-outs that give this navette a unique edge. It is currently a size 6 3/4 and may be easily resized up or down upon request. The navette measures about 1 inch long and 3/8 inch wide.
