Blessed with the hair of Venus herself! Rutilated topaz is one of few stones whose inclusions actually make them more valuable. The golden inclusions are endearingly called Venus hair, and are actually made of limonite filling in empty channels in the topaz. The large oval cabochon stone is bezel set in 18k yellow gold whose radiant textured finish and design likely places the ring around the 1960s. The long navette shape of the ring is a bold statement, yet very feminine and flattering on the hand with its elegant length. Its shank is substantially wide and hallmarked on the inside by a proud maker who is unknown to us. The ring measures about 1 3/4 inches long and 1/2 inch wide. It is currently a size 6 3/4 and may be resized easily up or down upon request.
