Perhaps among the oldest and most widely used wedding traditions in the world is the ceremonious orange blossom. Orange blossoms were first used to symbolize purity and fertility in Ancient China where brides would pin them to their gowns. Trade brought this tradition everywhere. Queen Victoria wore orange blossoms in her hair and gown in her wedding to Prince Albert, reviving a demand for the flower in the 19th century and cementing it as a symbol of a happy betrothal. It is the most common motif on wedding bands to this day! This solitaire takes this motif and makes the absolute most of its beauty! The carved blossoms graduate in size, gently climbing toward the delicately curved prongs. A stunning .69 carat old mine cut diamond is elegantly set into the classic six prong mounting. The diamond is highly graded by GIA as a near colorless G color grade and a VS2 clarity grade. The diamond was cut in the 19th century, but we believe the 18k white gold solitaire setting to be c1920. The ring is currently a size 6 1/2 and may be resized up or down upon request.
