1964 World's Fair Charm

1964 World's Fair Charm

One needn't have had the opportunity to visit The New York World's Fair in 1964 or 65 to appreciate the sentiment and significance behind this stunning charm! This 14k beauty was modeled after the Unisphere– one of the most iconic structures in the Queens borough of our home, New York City. The Unisphere was commissioned to represent the fair, whose theme was "Peace Through Understanding" and in turn celebrated the ushering in of the space age. It represents global interdependence and was dedicated to "Man's Achievements on a Shrinking Globe in an Expanding Universe." This charm can mean so much and so many different things to different people. From an interconnected world, to a celebration of scientific advancements, to an homage to New York City or Queens specifically– it is a beautiful piece with significance that can be appreciated by many. The charm measures about 3/4 inch in diameter and has about an inch drop from the top of the bale. It may be worn on a charm bracelet as shown or as a pendant!
