The poppy– the dreamiest of flowers! Red poppies were a common symbol in Art Nouveau designs. They were thought to represent imagination and extravagance! Paired with a golden heart, this poppy pin adds a bit of romantic whimsy wherever it goes! The poppy is beautifully enameled in shades of purple and red that give it dimension. Against the aged gold, the enamel has hints of orange that truly make the poppy, well, pop! This pin, made around 1890, is in great shape, though some of the enamel is worn away and there is a small dent in the gold heart as shown. It measures about 3/4 inch at its widest points.
