Gold Perfume Bottle Brooch c1860

Gold Perfume Bottle Brooch c1860

Hand-carved with gorgeous floral blooms and scrolling feathery foliage, this solid gold perfume bottle from the 1860s remains a functional treasure lifetimes later! The bottle opens and closes effortlessly with a small hinged cap that flips opens and securely suctions shut, allowing the wearer to carry their most cherished scent or potion with them wherever they go! A blank signet on its front is ready to be personalized with a custom engraving. While this bottle was likely originally worn on a chatelaine attached with a silk rope around its neck, a pinback was added in the 1930s for wear as a brooch. A chain can easily thread through the pinback for wear as a necklace (as pictured), though a bail can be added and the pinback removed for exclusive wear in a necklace if desired. A long chain is preferred so the wearer can easy make use of the perfume on the go! This remarkable relic is quietly glamorous and functionally stylish, making it a perfectly refined addition to any antique jewelry collection!
