Cultured Mabé pearls are grown intentionally by using a hemispheric nucleus, rather than a round one; and by implanting it against the oyster's shell, rather than within its tissue. The pearl then develops in a hemispheric form, with its characteristic flat back. This fine pair of earrings was crafted by hand in 14 karat yellow gold, featuring 2 large grey Mabé pearls. We adore the twisted rope wreath that frames the pearls, leaving their luster right on display.
