Midcentury Ledesma Taxco Malachite Bracelet
The perfectly seamless blending of stone and silver for which Enrique Ledesma was famous for is exemplified in this stunning malachite bracelet! The gorgeously aged dark malachite stones are inlaid into sterling silver in such a smooth way they truly appear as one solid piece. Enrique Ledesma was a highly regarded Taxco silversmith who worked for the biggest names in the Mexican Silver Renaissance of the mid 20th century– Spratling, Los Castillo, and Hector Aguilar– before opening up his own workshop in 1950. The bracelet is made up of rounded triangle panels inlaid with half-moon malachite stones, each alternating to create a solid row. Its rounded geometry maked is decisively midcentury, as well as smooth and easy to wear. The bracelet is about 6 1/4 inches long fitting a smaller than average sized wrist, and measures about 5/8 inch wide. The tongue-in-groove box clasp clicks in easily and securely and is reinforced by a safety chain.
