Victorian Sterling Wedding Bracelets

Victorian Sterling Wedding Bracelets

Before the tradition of engagement and wedding rings, there was the engagement gift. Wedding bracelets were a common betrothal tradition in the Victorian era– a groom would gift his future bride one bracelet and then complete the pair on their wedding day! It is rare to find them in pairs these days, though many of the bangles and bracelets that we adore from this time period were likely sold in pairs!

This edgy pair features rows of pyramid studs with etched ivy leaves in between, symbolizing enduring strength and love. Made around 1890 in Birmingham, England these sterling silver bangles predate an era that made pyramid studs an icon of punk rock! Truly a Victorian original with well over a century of lore!

  • Sterling Silver
