A stunning work of art in a frame every bit as special! This gorgeous intaglio is expertly carved in a deep red carnelian stone. The carnelian is ever so slightly translucent, softly playing with light as it shows off its portrait. The 14k frame features radiant carved designs in four tones of gold, clockwise from the top: rose, white, green, and yellow! This piece has a fox-head hallmark from 1880s Austria. The pinback is a later replacement, and is a base metal. The brooch measures 1 inch by 1 1/4 inches.
