1950s Schiaparelli Bracelet and Earrings Set
As rare as the innovative vision of its designer– an original Schiaparelli set! Elsa Schiaparelli is known for her avant-garde fashion designs that won her recognition in the art world, particularly with the surrealists. She worked with the master Salvador Dali himself to produce some of the most creative fashion designs the world had seen at that point. Her jewelry is no exception and highly collectible. Her pieces are increasingly rare and to have a set is particularly special! This set is in pristine condition. The colorful glass beads make a statement, individually wired and connected by dynamic multi-layered gold-tone links. It is the kind of accessory that makes an outfit! The bracelet is among the widest we've seen, made of 13 beaded strands totaling 2 1/2 inches wide. It is 7 1/2 inches around, fitting an average to large sized wrist. The unsigned earrings are screw-on, made for unpierced ears, and are each made of four looped strands of beads. They measure about 3 inches long and just over an inch wide. As this set is costume, no adjustments can be made.
