Nothing quite says 1970 like the distinctive brutalist style! Brutalist design is characterized by textures and designs heavily inspired by the rougher parts of our natural world, like tree bark or cliff faces. Shapes are organic and asymmetrical, often with jagged edges, as seen here in the sculptural gold settings of these remarkable opal earrings! Twelve full cut diamonds are set into a 14k yellow gold wreath surrounding a fine opal cabochon in each of these earrings. The diamonds total a carat weight of about 1.60 and boast near colorless G-H color grades and VS to SI clarity grades. The high-end opals are around 8 carats each, totaling 16 carats. Each earring measures about 1 1/8 inch by 7/8 inch.
