Antique Rutilated Amethyst & Pearl Earrings
This gorgeous pair of antique earrings feature an uncommon treasure: rutilated amethysts from Russia! Boasting a regal purple glow with light red undertones, these fine amethysts feature rutile inclusions. At a close glance, one can appreciate the needle-like rutile within this unique gem, which marries the beauty of the violet-hued amethyst with the interesting, metallic streaks of rutile. Handmade around 1910 in warm, beautifully contrasting yellow gold, the oval-cut, faceted gems are bezel-set and framed with a delicate rope border and a halo of natural seed pearls that embrace the striking gems in a beautiful soft white luster. Though often a subtle trait, rutilated quartz gemstones are an unusual case in which inclusions are not considered an imperfection, but instead a celebrated point of intrigue! These otherwise classic amethyst earrings elevate the subtleties that make us all one-of-a-kind!
