c1900 Hand-Engraved Rolled Gold Locket
A bird flies over three gorgeous flowers in rays of gold light in this late Victorian locket! It was made around the turn of the century in rolled gold, an extremely hardy, antique form of plating that looks and wears like gold. As you can see, it is not like plating today, most rolled gold that we come across is intact, and will likely last for decades, if not centuries, to come! The inside of the locket is complete with both frames and clear covers for photos to be inserted. It is in excellent condition, with only a small dent around 11 o'clock on the front. This is one of the larger lockets we've had, measuring 1 1/2 inches in diameter and 1/4 inch thick.
