Old Pawn Squash Blossom Necklace c1960
Completely handmade by expert Native American jewelers in the 1950s or 60s, this stunning silver necklace is a fine example of the Squash Blossom style attributed to Navajo Nation jewelers of the 19th century. Six vivid blue turquoise stones with heavy black matrixing, prized by Southwestern tribes for its symbolic strength, brightly adorn this work of art. The silver has a beautiful patina that highlights the necklace's fine details. As is standard in pieces from this time period, the necklace is unsigned, making it highly desired 'old pawn silver'. The necklace measures about 18 inches long while the centerpiece measures 2 3/4 inches long and 3/4 inch wide.
