Rare Deco Black and White Pearls c1930
Classic elegance finds a fabulous edge in this rare Deco pearl necklace! A strand of black pearls sits between two strands of white pearls, all graduated in size. Twisted up it can be worn as a torsade, and worn evenly with the clasp shown off in the front, gives us three different ways to wear! The high grade pearls are stunning and lustrous on their own though their rare clasp matches their sophistication with stylish glamour. Two old mine cut diamonds dating back to the 1890s are set into torus shaped onyx stones on either side of a bright white pearl, complementing the pairing of black and white pearls, all set in 18k yellow gold. The diamonds are each around .30 carat, G-H near colorless grade, and VS clarity grade. Three additional diamonds cap the strands at either end adding an additional .18 carat in diamond weight. The largest pearl strand graduates from about 6.4 millimeters to 9.2 millimeters and range between A+ to AA grade. The black pearl strand is graded A+ while the smaller pearl strand graduates from about 4.4 millimeters to 8 millimeters and are also graded between A+ and AA. All of the pearls are Akoya cultured pearls that have been restrung with French knots for lasting durability of wear. The necklace can be worn at around 18 inches long when twisted as a torsade and up to 21 inches long when worn flat. It is about 1 inch in width. This incredible piece appraises at up to $12k– we are so proud to be able to offer it at a fraction of its value!
