Romantic Amethyst & Rose-Cut Diamond Pendant
Ever symbolic, the snake is a lasting favorite among Victorian motifs — it is the ultimate display of eternal love. Its popularity has persisted throughout history, and snake jewelry is all the rage today. It is increasingly harder to find these genuine, early snake jewels, so we get very excited when we do! As the alluring snake sheds and is reborn with a new skin, always transforming, it is also associated with rebirth and continual renewal of life, even spiritual awakening, so its powerful symbolism can resonate for many stages of life.
Handmade circa 1870s in silver and 18 karat gold, our antique pendant centers a whopping 40 carat faceted amethyst of a delicious warm, purple hue. The gem is bordered by 1 carat total in glittering rose-cut diamonds, depicting 2 intertwined snakes with looping heads and ruby eyes, bound together forever. 2 dangling natural pearls perfectly complete the piece. The amethyst has a 11mm thickness, while the pendant measures about 1 and 3/4 inches long by 1 inch wide, and it can be worn by sliding a chain through its comfortable 14 karat yellow gold bale at the top, which was in the 21st century. You can find more chain options here, all available for purchase.
Not only is this a stunning and significant piece of jewelry history, but the metaphors imbued in this serpent pendant will provide a sense of regeneration that will empower you for decades to come. It will not last long — add it to your collection today!
Please note this listing is for the snake pendant only.
