An exceptional diamond and pearl locket from the Victorian era!

This beautifully ornate antique locket, which has a rounded shield-like shape, is decorated with gorgeous tracery-inspired filigree and is richly detailed with a three-dimensional look. At the middle of its raised center sits a Rose-Cut diamond-studded star with a bezel-set pearl in the center, which is mimicked at the dangle. It holds approximately half a carat in Rose-Cut diamonds total. As no detail was spared in the making of this exquisite piece, this fine locket is suspended from a a pearl-adorned bail at the top of the piece, and it is large in size and perfect to fit on a thick Victorian chain, like the one shown on our model shot. This antique locket was handcrafted in solid 18 karat yellow gold circa 1850-70s, very likely American-made as it bears no hallmarks. It is complete with a side hinge that allows it to open smoothly and reveal a glass covered chamber for all of your favorite keepsakes.
