Georgian Eagle-Head Watch Chain c1830

Georgian Eagle-Head Watch Chain c1830

Rare eagle-heads distinguish this gorgeous Georgian watch chain!

Made sometime between the 1820-1840s, this unique watch chain features links that are made up of two flat round rings connected on one end and fanned out into a V shape. Each link interlocks with the next creating a cross between a snake and box chain! The chain is 'Y' shaped with three distinct ends: two beautifully detailed eagle heads with beaks that form a ring for easy attachment to other chains, and one ornate swivel hook which can fit many sizeable bales. We've modeled it here attached to another watch chain, which adds the necessary length to wear as a one-of-a-kind necklace! A fob at the end completes the antique aesthetic. This rare Georgian beauty is a remarkable piece made for wear with the pocket watches and fobs of two centuries ago. Today, it's hooks and swivel make it easy to customize for wear with other treasures!
