Multi-Gem Cocktail Ring c1980
A vivid, deep violet amethyst sparkles alongside a sky blue topaz and brilliant diamond in this playful cocktail ring from the 1980s! Wonderfully geometric, the ring's gems are each cut and set in a different shape and clustered along a diagonal defined by a fanned layer of gold. The oval-cut amethyst's long edge follows the angle while the pear-cut blue topaz meets it with its pointed end. The round brilliant diamond nestles alongside the two, perfectly filling the space and balancing the asymmetrical design. All are set in bezels atop a highly polished wide gold band, their tops flush with the ridged gold fan which tapers wide where they meet. It's as if the fanned gold overlaps the ring, perhaps hiding more gems under its ridges as its angled corners extend past the top and bottom edges of the band. The result is an easy-to-wear low-profile ring that boasts dynamic dimension, depth, and a design that feels completely original!
