Antique Rose Cut Diamond Bangle
A glittering flower of Rose-cut diamonds sparkles at the center of this beautifully-aged bangle from the late 1860s!
Handmade in 15 karat gold with a rose undertone, this hinged bangle hails from Pest. We know for certain that this bangle was made before 1873, before the aforementioned city merged with “Buda” (a neighboring city), to become what we today call Budapest. The largest diamond weighs about .40 carats and it is belcher-set at the center, enhanced by a halo of Rose-cuts. The shoulders are highlighted by delicate diamond-studded tulips, sitting over a garden of hand carvings and milgrained edges. It is beautifully matched, featuring 18 foil-backed genuine Rose-cut diamonds, with some some visible oxidizing, which transforms the foil to a greyish hue. The bangle's wear is age-appropriate for a piece that is 150+ years old, not affecting its beauty.
It is sure to catch the eye of a seasoned collector and make a lovely addition into their jewelry box!
- Can comfortably fit a 6 and 1/4" wrist, or smaller
