Art Nouveau Amethyst & Diamond Brooch
A deep and vivid purple amethyst enchants between diamond strewn petals, beautifully sculpted to appear as soft and sensual as their natural counterparts. This stunning brooch is an exemplary design from the Art Nouveau aesthetic movement of the period. Art Nouveau sought to elevate natural forms, going beyond using flowers as motifs and often instead focusing on the alluring curves of stems and petals or the wispy curls of smoke. Here, the petals are slightly asymmetrical and each curved seemingly in its own wave, or responding to the wind. Set in 14 karat gold with a silver top and covered in the finest diamonds, in reality, this piece is anything but delicate! The diamonds sparkle like glittering dew drops in the dawn, as the 40 carat Russian amethyst glows with its intense violet hue – It is truly a unique and stunning work of art!
