Carved Baton Link Watch Chain 1910
Deeply carved, intricate flourishes scroll along the four sides of each long baton link in this gorgeous Edwardian pocket watch chain. At first glance this tiny carved pattern appears as a fine texture in the warm gold, but as the gaze lingers over each link, the incredible artistry of each tiny feathery flourish becomes clear against the carving's perfect patina. Made around 1910, this chain was made for wear with a pocket watch, complete with a dog-clip on one end and a sizable spring ring on the other. Today it can be worn as a short collar necklace or fastened with another chain or extension to add length! A chain with this level of finely carved detail is a rare find in our modern times– what a joy that we can still turn to antique watch chains for their unmatched beauty and artful craftsmanship!
