'Father' Memorial Ring c1838

In Memory of Father: a mourning ring made from the woven hair of the beloved for his bereaved. Though it was prevalent for centuries, hairwork jewelry was most common in the Victorian era when wig makers pivoted their businesses as wigs went out of fashion and mourning fashion ad culture became more elaborate. Hair is a part of us that remains intact for thousands of years, making it favorable to use as a lasting memorial like this! Made in 1838, this remarkable piece of history was made in Birmingham, England and set with woven hair in 9k rose gold.

This ring is a size 9 1/2 and can not be adjusted to be larger. A sizing bar may be added to the inside to fit a slightly smaller finger upon request.
