2.50 Carat Ruby Ring By Tiffany & Company
Jean Schlumberger was born in Alsace, France in 1907 but soon moved to Paris to explore his love for the arts. His talent and keen eye got him noticed and eventually led him to design for Elsa Schiaparelli, but it wasn't until the 1950s when he was asked by the Chairman of Tiffany & Company to join the company as Vice President that his career really took off. A special design studio was decorated to Schlumberger's specifications, and with an unlimited supply of the finest colored gems now at his fingertips, Schlumberger created some of the most incredible jewelry designs ever, like the iconic Bird on a Rock brooch or the sixteen stone diamond ring. His creativity was always fueled by his passion for colorful, rare gemstones, and he became known for taking impressive, stately jewels and setting them in modernized, whimsical settings. Many of his designs surpass jewelry design and enter the world of sculpture. This ring is the perfect example of Jean Schlumberger's ethos.
Imbued with movement, this vintage ring was designed by the famed jeweler Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Company, featuring a 2.50 carat cabochon-cut Ruby of a deep raspberry-red hue and with visible, natural inclusions. The rounded band is made in solid 18 karat yellow gold, and its textured, dynamic waves naturally frame this extraordinary gem and give it the prominence it deserves. This bold cocktail ring is currently a size 8 and easily resizable. Please inquire.
Jean Schlumberger’s designs have been coveted and collected by the world’s most fashionable women for decades, as a Schlumberger piece is synonym of impeccable taste. From Hollywood film actresses, to royal families and international socialites, and now to you!
