14 Karat Lapis Lazuli & Diamond Ring
The alluring Lapis Lazuli has been highly-prized since ancient times — the mask of Tutankhamun is inlaid with lapis lazuli, and it was also Cleopatra's favorite eye shadow color. The pigment also helped Dutch art Master Vermeer to create his captivating painting Girl with a Pearl, and when Michelangelo demanded to use Lapis for the Sistine chapel, the stone was ground into an iridescent powder for his use. Coined 'ultramarine', this became the most expensive of all the Renaissance colours. Due to its rich, sky-blue appearance, lapis has been long known as the stone of the gods, a gift from heaven. This bold ring, imbued with the healing properties associated with lapis, is now a gift to you!
This vintage ring was made in 14 karat yellow gold with lapiz lazuli and .24 carats total in Full-Cut diamonds adorning the top of the open, geometric frame, and the design follows around the whole shank. The diamonds are graded H-I color and VS-SI clarity, and the rectangular slab of lapis displays that signature royal-blue hue with visible flecks of gold pyrite. It is currently a size 6 and 1/4 and it may be able get sized. Please inquire.
