Rare Georgian Bird-of-Paradise Ring

Rare Georgian Bird-of-Paradise Ring

Almost as rare as catching a bird of paradise in its famed dance is this stunning jeweled representation from the Georgian era! This beautiful bird comes to life with rich guilloché enameling adding pops of color to its feathers alongside sparkling rose cut diamonds and a bright garnet eye.

This special piece was likely converted to a ring in the 20th century. The top is all Georgian period, set in 18k gold and silver with rose cut diamonds, a garnet, and fine enamel work. The top measures about 1 1/4 inches by 3/4 inch wide. The ring's shank is 14k yellow gold and a size 9 1/2. It may be resized upon request.

Note that some of the blue enamel is chipped as is a small rose cut diamond in the wing (as pictured). This diamond is the second from the bottommost, and will not be replaced it in order to maintain the antiquity and integrity of the piece. This remarkable jewel is priced as-is. It is likely over 200 years old and a rare find!
