Ottoman Ring with Paste & Seed Pearls c1800
Among our most antique pieces, this magnificent ring dates to the 18th century! The oval-shaped beauty has the presence of a bold statement ring yet remains demure with its gentle lilac glitter and soft pearl luster. An amethyst hued paste cabochon captivates at its center, bezeled in a delicate gold rope and haloed by rings of natural seed pearls that alternate with rings of facetted amethyst paste stones. Each paste stone is set within its own bezel, adding dynamic detail to the alluring pattern. A rope on its outer edge completes the flat top, as a flower on either shoulder leads into the band. Engraved scrolls add the finest touch to the back of the ring, a treasure just for the wearer. This antique ring is of Ottoman origin and boasts the coveted beauty of 18th century jewels: a bauble worthy of any collector's jewelry box!
