Cut between 1910 and 1930, this 1.90 carat diamond predates the ring, as evidenced by its distinct hand-cut facets and culet, which boast the fiery sparkle that is characteristic of antique stones. Its stunning cut and fine qualities are amplified by its colorlessness, which allows light to refract brilliantly off of its clean, mirror-like facets. A thin white gold bezel and solid prongs protect the diamond's immaculate sparkle as it sits elegantly oriented north-south in its magnificent setting. Unusual combinations of lines, textures, beads, and cutouts in the rich yellow gold ring create an aesthetic that is at once ancient and futuristic. Straight lines radiate from the diamond on all sides, carved in a matte finish that softens the ring's dazzling geometry. Polished beads are strewn throughout these lines, providing both contrast and dimension that accentuates the mesmerizing movement of the gem. Chevron shaped cut-outs complete the ring as they graduate wider and wider from a point on either side of the diamond, complementing and balancing the marquise's pointed ends in a high polish finish.
