1850s Enamel Star Ring

1850s Enamel Star Ring

A symbol of guidance and direction, stars were a popular motif used in jewelry throughout the Victorian era. This ring features the symbol prominently, pretty against the sky blue enamel that colors the entire face of the ring. A rose cut diamond subtly twinkles in the center. Its aged foiled back, once meant to add brilliance, is now tarnished with a peach hue that almost glows. Seed pearls are set into the the points of the stars– their iridescent lustre adding mystique. The shank is carved with flourishes, hand-done as was the entirety of the ring, in 14k yellow gold. Its scale makes a statement, as it is tall and wide. The top measures about 1 inch by 3/4 inch and it sits nearly 1/2 inch tall off the finger. The ring is currently a size 6 1/2 and may be resized up or down upon request.
