Art Deco Diamond Dinner Ring c1920
The distinctive Art Deco dinner ring of the flapper era was a celebration of independent women – liberated from their restrictive corsets and empowered with the right to vote. The striking north-south design dazzled on the right hand, proudly on display under a cocktail glass in a speakeasy or at a dinner party. The dinner ring was commonly purchased by the wearer as a fashion statement and an ode to personal power– not typically given by a man, or denoting any kind of commitment except to one's own self.
This elegant example is fully handmade and set with stunning transitional-cut diamonds, showcasing the high art of the style. The two largest stones are each set delineated within their own pear-shape and stacked with a smaller diamond within its pointed end. The pears reflect across the ring's horizon, like the two of spades. Six diamonds surround, marking the four corners and mirroring the centerpiece. In typical Art Deco fashion, every edge is milgrain-beaded, giving the metal a glowing appearance as carved step-cut shoulders complete the design. This antique dinner ring is guaranteed to draw enchanted glances from across candlelit tables and crowded speakeasies, standing out in even the most glamourous locales!
