1940s Handmade Platinum 1.81 carat Old European Cut Diamond Ring
A stunning antique diamond pairs perfectly with this classic 1940s setting! The simple mounting with its clean tapered baguette sides contrasts the cushion-like old European cut diamond, letting it stand out. It is handmade in platinum, showcasing the diamond in fishtail prongs. The diamond has a whopping carat weight of 1.81. It is an incredible value due to its N color grade and SI3 clarity grade. It is hard to see with an untrained eye, but fairly obvious under magnification is a black carbon spot right on the crown that gives it this grade. It is otherwise a very clean stone, and in no way salty, as you can see in the photographs. The N color grade indicates obvious pigment, though it is quite warm, and in natural light it loses a lot of the color and brings it to a J grade. The side diamonds have a total carat weight of about .16. The ring is currently a size 5 3/4 and may be resized up or down easily upon request.
