A riveting recut modern brilliant diamond sits pretty in this retro 1940s ring! The diamond is a GIA certified, 1.03 carat, near colorless G grade, and clean VS2 clarity grade. It is a recut diamond, typical of the 1940s, when they would take old cut diamonds and recut them into the more valuable and fashionable modern brilliant cut. It still has the playful sparkle of an old cut. Most indicative is the tiny facet on the very bottom of the stone known as the culet, only found on cuts that came before the modern brilliant. The 14k setting is simple, yet uniquely chic with its tapered side details which hold a diamond on either side of the center. They total a carat weight of about .08 and are G color, SI1 clarity grade. The ring is currently a size 6 1/4 and may easily be resized up or down upon request.
