Carved from lava that erupted from Mount Vesuvius, these 19th century cameos feature the bust of a woman and her reflection. Together the cameos are perfectly poised to either look up towards the wearer or their companions depending on how they're worn! One might even deduce that they're giving a little side-eye; wearer, direct them accordingly! 

Beautifully carved with impressive sculptural detail, these lava cameos are framed by rope detailing in rich 14 karat yellow gold, highlighting and bringing warmth to the creamy-hued lava. The hook-style backings for pierced ears allow the cameos to have a slightly dangling drop, and were set later in the 1930s. Over 100 years old, they have survived in fantastic condition. Imbued with an 'explosive' history, this unusual pair of earrings is guaranteed to bring a certain fiery drama to your collection!
