Alexandrite Earrings c1940
Nature's magic trick — the color-changing Alexandrite! The June babies are so lucky to have this mesmerizing gem as their birthstone!
Alexandrites are quite rare, making them prohibitively expensive. Gem scientists have created lab-grown alexandrites, and these earrings feature 2 truly fine examples. Depending on the light source (indoor vs outdoor), the color of this chameleonic gem will vary from shades of blue to deep purple, or even magenta! This fine pair was made around the 1930s or 40s in 14 karat yellow gold with a rose undertone, very characteristic of Retro-era jewelry. They currently have their original screw-on posts, which do not require piercings, and can be easily converted for pierced ears upon request.
