Dating to the Georgian era circa 1830s, this delicate pair of earrings was handmade in 18 karat yellow gold, with fine canatille wirework bordering the artfully hand-carved and finely ornamented cameos. The centerpiece are the cameo goddesses that face each other, which are constructed from shell. Each earring measures 2 and 1/2 inches long by 5/8 of an inch wide (at its widest point), and they have been converted for pierced ears. We are proud to offer this pair of antique cameo earrings in pristine condition.
When we first received this pair of earrings, we were struck by the painstaking workmanship required to build them (isn't it hard to believe they are carved from sea shells?), and their understated beauty as they sway on your earlobe. They truly are a fine and rare example of antique Georgian jewelry, and they can fit right in your jewelry collection — make them yours today!
