This are a rare pair of Victorian Hairwork earrings. This kind of jewelry was very popular in the 19th century and was created both as memorial and sweetheart pieces. The intricately woven hair in this case is set in a Rolled Gold spiraling basket with dangling bead. The Lever type pierced tops are more modern and are made of 18 Karat Gold. These measure approx. 1 7/8" top to bottom. These earrings will be a conversation starter for the wearer. So much history behind them but nicely updated for pierced ears. Please note as-is condition.
