Georgian Watch Chain with Pin-Pendant
A belt for fidelity, adorned with ivy for strength and fortitude, graces this Georgian era pin-pendant with meaning and sentiment. The black enameled ivy leaves beautifully coordinate with the four detailed ends of its matching watch chain, each etched with fine details that texture the rich gold. The chain's double cable links create a thick, boxy chain that is sturdy and holds a charming patina. Designed with two sections of chain, this piece was intended to hold a pocket watch on one end of the longest chain with the pin attached in the center of the two chains on a split ring, securing the chain to a garment. Fobs would then hang from the end of the shortest chain. Today it makes a stylish, unique choice for a short necklace, with its pin worn as a pendant or removed and worn separately. Alternatively, it can be lengthened with another watch chain, to complete a completely original longer necklace. Its antique beauty and unceasing charm ensures that it will live on for eras to come, easily shifting in use with changing fashions, yet never going out of style!
