Baltic Amber Necklace With Filigree Beads

Did you know amber takes millions of years to form? It all begins with sticky tree resin, which matures over time, undergoing many changes and eventually becoming hardened amber. This warm-hued organic gem, often referred to as ‘fossilized sunlight’, can sometimes hold amazing animal and flower fossils preserved within it, offering valuable insight into the ancient life and ecosystems of past eras! We adore amber here at Pippin!

This statement necklace is comprised of cognac Baltic amber and an array of stylized 14 karat yellow gold filigree, fluted and plain beads. The lovely warm tones of these faceted, organic gems show naturally occurring inclusions and crazing, and they are probably of Russian origin, hailing from the the shores of the Baltic Sea.
