Brutalist Boulder Opal and Emerald Ring c1970
No other jewelry movement is so strongly associated with the 1970s as brutalism! Brutalist jewelry stands out for its use of abstract, asymmetrical, organic shapes, and this ring is a perfect example! Solid 14k yellow gold is sculpted into shapes that evoke the roots or bark of a tree, or ripples of water in a pond. Centrally set is a 1 carat boulder opal, with strong, fiery orange iridescent specks against the bluish grey stone. Six Colombian emeralds surround the opal, adding another pop of color that compliments the opal perfectly and adds to the natural appeal of the ring. It is currently a size 9 and is easily resized up or down upon request.
