Etruscan Revival Locket Bracelet c1870
An ornate gold disk centers a collection of stunning blue turquoise stones and hides a locket in this exquisite Etruscan Revival bracelet! Made around 1870 in the Victorian era, this intricately detailed piece is inspired by the ancient Etruscan jewels excavated from tombs in Italy throughout the mid 19th century. Seven bright blue turquoise stones are each bezel-set atop a dome, each encircled by a thin gold rope while they evenly cover the half-sphere. The dome is elevated, sitting atop the concave disk as a razor thin ring of gold rises around it. A unique wreath of delicate zig-zagged rope and sculptural gold loops frames the centerpiece as the disk slopes up around its outer edge, creating a radiant halo of dynamic texture that mesmerizes. A thin rope defines the disk's outer edge, perfectly completing the centerpiece and complementing the intricately woven, flexible bracelet strap. Hidden around the back of the bracelet, an empty locket awaits its next wearer's secret keepsakes, complete with its original glass and gold frame!
