Not only is an untreated sapphire with this vibrant color incredibly rare, but it is made the more special here in a uniquely-cut oval shape, featuring a high table and spready facets. The gem is flanked by Old European-cut diamonds above and below, all securely bezel-set and complete with delicate milgrain beading. Ornate but airy all at once, the hand-pierced setting creates lace-like, scalloped flourishes around the stones, framing them perfectly. Despite its airy design, it remains bold in its size, reaching below the base of the finger as it climbs toward the knuckle. The ring’s top sits flush on the finger, and its shank is simple, yet its romantic floral engravings make it distinct. Handmade circa 1900 in two-tone gold, its incredible details are as if unworn from a century ago.
