Pictures simply cannot convey the diamond-like sparkle of this piece! The stones are actually paste, and early kind of rhinestone crystal, and are each hand set into sterling. It dates back to the early 1940s, when a pair of dress clips was essential for any fine lady's wardrobe! The dress clips are cleverly attached to a pin back so they be worn together as one brooch, making it a "duette"! The length of the brooch in total is 2 inches, making each dress clip about 1 inch. At its widest, it is about 3/4 inch.
