Here is an excellent example of Zuni jewelry. This pin/pendant is hallmarked C.M.P. for Charles & Mary Ann Poncho as well as marked Zuni . The inlaid image is of a Zuni Knifewing or Eagle Dancer, all done in various stones and mother-of-pearl. The background is patinated a steely grey. This half man/half Eagle deity was often known as "The Great One" and bestows wisdom, strength, and courage. The pin measures just over 2 1/2" in diameter and has a hidden bale to wear as a pendant.
